Crawlspace Weatherization – Norwell, MA

This Norwell, MA, home had moisture issues in the crawl space, causing the existing fiberglass insulation to become saturated and hang from the ceiling. Our team removed and properly disposed of the damaged insulation, which had been compromised by ground moisture migrating into the crawl space.

Once the area was prepared for weatherization work, we air-sealed the crawl space ceiling to minimize air leakage and improve energy performance. We then installed new 9-inch fiberglass batt insulation to full depth within the ceiling cavities.

To further protect the space from moisture and enhance thermal performance, we enclosed the entire crawl space with 2-inch rigid foam board insulation and thoroughly air-sealed all seams and penetrations. This comprehensive approach helps prevent moisture from reaching the insulation, improves energy efficiency, and creates a fully weatherized crawl space environment.
